About Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo is the capital of the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is the biggest city in the Southern Hemisphere with more than 11 million people living there. When you add the “greater Sao Paulo” area, it is over 19 million. Descendants of many different ethnic groups live in Sao Paulo: Portuguese, Italian, Spanish, African, German, Lebanese, Japanese, Chinese, Jews, and Koreans. Many descendants of other South American countries also live there, such as Bolivia and Argentina. Sao Paulo is the commercial and industrial center of Brazil. Many people consider it the most important city in South America.
